About Us

Meet Our Team
"I graduated from high school knowing I wanted to pursue work in the building trades. I was privileged to learn under a highly-regarded Des Moines-area home builder who taught me how to build quality homes and to treat customers right. I spent 20 years in new home building.  Ongoing customer service and excellence remain the cornerstone of my business today.

Previous to starting my home inspection company I ran Wiemann Remodeling with my son, Chris. Our Des Moines area home inspection company stemmed from numerous customers asking me to inspect their homes in preparation to sell.  They also regularly consulted with me regarding problems encountered after moving into a home.  As a result, I felt a strong desire to provide people with honest, skilled inspections and to make scheduling an inspection as simple as possible. For me, it’s all about treating people right.

My wife, Julie and I have two children, Nicole and Chris who are both married, and we have two grandsons and a granddaughter! We worship at the Ridge in Ankeny where we are both involved in serving in a variety of ways. My hobbies include home projects and spending time with family and friends.  I was certified through the American Society of Home Inspectors (AHIT), and I get yearly CEUs through the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).  Membership in ASHI is only allowed when you get yearly CEUs.

Owner & Inspector
"I've always loved building things and working on houses. At a young age I started helping my dad work and do projects around the house. When I was in high school I took a two year remodeling program at Central Campus and through our church participated in multiple working mission trips to help remodel and rebuild communities in several different states.

I had the opportunity to gain a lot of experience working with a new home builder in the area for a couple of years, and then helping run our family remodeling business for several years.  I also spent a couple of years working for a local excavating company where I did earthwork and gained underground utility experience as well.  My building experience comes from both residential and commercial.  When dad got so busy that he was constantly turning away work in the home inspection business I was excited to be in the same industry just in a different way.  Like him, serving people and teaching them about homes is my passion.

My wife Amanda and I have two boys, and a little girl. We live in Urbandale, worship and serve at Lutheran Church of Hope-Waukee, and I enjoy working on home projects, golf and spending time with my family." I am also certified through AHIT and a member of ASHI. I love to learn and am constantly looking at ways to improve our skills as home inspectors in Des Moines.

Chris Wiemann
"Prior to joining Wiemann Home Inspection, I was a middle school science teacher for 34 years, using my summers as an opportunity to help a contractor with remodeling homes, roofing and building garages.  I love to teach, having also taught driver education for several years, and enjoyed many successful seasons as a cross country and track coach, where I was fortunate enough to coach on three state championship teams.  I am excited to be a home inspector so I can continue educating as a profession (now educating homeowners instead of students).  I have seen how Chuck, Chris, and their team provide excellent customer service and am committed to doing that as well.

My wife Nancy and I have three children: Kelli, Duff, & Shelby, and a son-in-law Dave. We also have three granddaughters.  We attend Ankeny First United Methodist Church. My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, landscaping, home projects, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes."  I took my training with AHIT in early 2017 and am also a member of ASHI.

"From the time I was young, and because I started farming with my family immediately out of high school, I've always been handy and interested in learning.  For many summers I assisted a local builder with a variety of projects to help supplement farming income.   Additionally, remodeling our old farmhouse has been a constant "past-time" for my entire adult life.  In many of my projects i gleaned valuable information from my brother-in-law Chuck and nephew Chris, and am excited to join the family business.

My wife Mary Jo and I have two children, Rachael and Peter; as well as three grandchildren.  We live in Sheffield, Iowa;  worship and serve in a variety of leadership roles at Rolling Acres Church in Mason City.  In addition to being a farmer; I spent 10 years driving a fed ex truck ; where I was able to use my customer relations skills.  I enjoy working on home projects, golf, and spending time with my wife and grandkids. " I am also certified through AHIT and a member of ASHI.

"I was born and raised in York, Maine and joined the Army right out of high school and then the Army National Guard.  I was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and served in combat for 13 months.  After my deployment, I worked as a finish carpenter for a custom home builder out of Portsmouth, NH, doing framing and finish carpentry for 15 years.  I also worked maintenance for a company where his position included HVAC and pool maintenance.   I most recently worked as a drafter for a local architecture firm, but my passion for and knowledge in the building and remodeling industry has allowed for a smooth transition to home inspection.
I live with my wife and two boys in Clive. We attend Eternity Church in Clive.  I enjoy spending time with our family outdoors and serve as a leader with my son's boy scout troop. I'm certified through AHIT and a member of ASHI.

Our Office Team
We are assisted by Julie Wiemann, Dawn Siskow, and Rachael Mineart.  Julie also works at Prairie Ridge Church as the Director of Sunday Night Worship, but assists primarily with marketing and as office manager.  She is the visionary with our company which allows our inspectors to do what they do well - inspect homes.

Chuck and Julie's niece, Rachael, is the primary voice you may hear when you call to schedule an inspection personally.  Rachael works one day a week as a nurse at Mercy Hospital so that she can stay home with her three young children.  Dawn has been working with us since 2014 and helps us with email confirmations, obtaining agreements, bookwork and social media.  Julie, Dawn, and Rachael help with all the behind the scenes pieces that help keep our business running and growing.
